Mackov
slowly
lifted
his
groggy
head
off
the
pillow.
He
took
a
deep
breath.
Through
sleep
encrusted
eyes
he
could
see
the
clock
flashing
red:
‘6:00
AM’.
He
fumbled
with
the
alarm
button
then,
turned
to
his
wife.
She
was
sound
asleep
beside
him,
her
peaceful
face
bathed
in
the
dim,
early
morning
light.
He
sat
up,
flopped
his
legs
over
the
edge
of
the
bed,
and drooped his head into his hands.
“Another one of those dreams. So real!” He murmured.
He
rose
up
on
unsteady
feet
and,
ever
so
briefly,
felt
the
wind
in
his
face.
It
faded
as
he
dragged himself over to the bathroom to start yet another day in this dull, insipid reality.
